Detecting Deception for HR Professionals

Mr. Gary Aschenbach Jr. has been a Special Agent with the United States Department of Defense since 2005.  Among his many duty assignments, he has conducted in excess of 450 personnel interviews that are primarily focused on national security, intelligence gathering and other related safety measures and crimes.  He is classified as a senior polygraph examiner, and as such is considered to be an expert in the field of detecting deception.  He is regularly sought after to conduct special interest polygraph examinations on behalf of the U.S. government.

It is the goal of this course to familiarize the new and seasoned interviewer with the various disciplines of “detecting deception.”  This is accomplished through learning to recognize, interpret, and respond to non-verbal body language, eye-assessing cues (Neurolinguistics), and by being introduced to the newest form of conducting detailed analysis of verbal and written statements. 

This unique course offers interviewers insight as to what a person is actually saying, and most importantly, what they are not saying.  

Mr. Aschenbach will discuss cutting-edge techniques that are used by the U.S. Department of Defense and law enforcement, to detect deception during interviews. These techniques will afford the HR professional the opportunity to make more informed hiring decisions by identifying both truthful and deceptive answers from applicants.  He will share how he used these techniques to successfully elicit truthful information from applicants, and the rewards and challenges he experienced. Attendees will learn many cutting-edge techniques and how to immediately apply them at their workplace.
